Bill

I used to get about 12.5L/100kls, but that was on the open road and travelling at no more than 100kph.

Around town I didn't bother measuring fuel consumption, because I knew it would be pretty ugly.

Hi. We have a '98 Prado 3.4l manual. I don't think I've ever got better than the mid 13s. The other extreme was 140kph in the NT (before the speed limit was reduced, of course) fully loaded, with a roof rack piled high, when we used over 22 litres per 100 km.
I have noticed that slow work (hiills etc.) don't seem to make as much difference as speed and head wind strength.
I hope these figures help a bit. Work on 15 to 17 litres (roof rack, but empty) or a bit less without the roof rack, depending on conditions, lead foot syndrome, winds etc. as well as speed. But you can bank on the fact that you can knock off a couple of litres per 100 by holding the speed back to under 100.

I has the 2000 RV6 manual. I could get down to 9.5L/100km on the highway, fairly empty and staying on or under 100km/hr.

Around town around the 12 - 14l/100km mark.

On beaches around Moreton and Fraser, more like 19L/100km.

cheers

And if anyone here wants a Gregory's manual let me know, can't sell it so happy to give it away.

That was meant to be "I had the 2000 RV6".

That explains why I have a Gregory's for the 98 to 2001 petrol Prado but can't bear to bin it. If anyone reading this with the 3.4L and wants it, txt name and address on 04 3846 3846 and it will turn up in the mail next week.

I haven't tried 110/100, but 110/90 when towing my van changes the consumption from 21 to 15.5k/100k.

Depends on the vehicle, but on average expect to use about 20% more. Latest Falcons does not seem to make much diff, but in 4bys you might as well set fire to your wallet.

I have a 02 3.5ltr Pajero.

I always thought it was all about sitting on a constant speed.

Basically, best to cruise along at 100km/h with the cruise control set.

Thanks

Hi Bill,

We have a 98 Grande auto, BFG A/T, 2 inch lift.

Pre LPG conversion:

At 100km/hr on highway 13L/100km (best 12.7).
Dirt road touring, occasional low range 15-16L/100km.
Towing wind-up on-road camper 16-17L/100km.

Post LPG:

Towing Trak Shak camper LPG 22-24L/100km
Towing Trak Shak camper Unleaded 18-19L/100km
Haven't measured highway run unloaded on LPG.

Hope this helps,

Mark.
