Howdy,
I have a Nissan Patrol GU 4.2 TD. I am doing a 2 inch lift and want to put 285 tyres on it.
If everything was equal I would do them at the same time or at least do the lift first but necessity dictates that I need to get tyres first (My other
well known brand are rubbish and very low on tread).
My question is: Can I fit 285 tyres (Mickey T MTZ) on before I get the lift or will they rub on the guards?
Any advice welcome.
Cheers
Ev

Ev,
They will fit but will rub on full flex.
Cheers Dave...

If the 2" lift includes longer shocks but retains the same bump stops you'll find it will actually scrape more on full up travel than if you you had no lift at all.
"Can I fit 285 tyres (Mickey T MTZ) on before I get the lift or will they rub on the guards?" Yes you can but either way it's going to touch before & after the lift.
Cheers Craig..........

I've got 285's BFG M's and had them on before my lift. They used to just touch the inner of the rear and since the lift I've noticed no rubbing.

Piece of cake, had 305/70 16 st's on from new, only just touch on the mudflaps in reverse. 285. good size.
