There must be something wrong with me, everytime i go to swipe the whatever card, when paying for fuel i have the bloody thing ,upside down , back to front, or somethings wrong!!, everytime!., much to the annoyance to the usually good looking chick, thats says about 3times ," turn it around the other way"...LOL. Think i need a bigger illustration on the Eftpos..

Yeh, I like the new machines that require the card to be inserted into the bottom of it and it has to stay there for the transaction to be completed. Only available if your card has one of those gold coloured chips inserted in it.

Nah, it's not just you. I reckon it's because every one of those EFTPOS machines takes the card in a different direction. One day some smart person will design one that reads the card both ways....

I think it is quite simple: there are potentially four (and only four) ways the card can go into the reader. The card reader uses the fifth alternative. It cannot be your age - or mine. Don't beat yourself up.

With all this scanning technology....why can't we just scan it like they do with groceries? No wear and tear, been through 2 credit cards in 8 months :(

I usually get the other operator....handing them the card and saying "credit with pin thanks" only to be asked "is that savings?"..sheeeeez.
