Gooday,
I own a 2007 BF Falcon Ute (6 cyl ) and Tow a 19ft Caravan weighing approx 1800 kgs, I was wondering in any Forum readers have fitted exhaust extractors or power Chips to their BF Falcons to increase power and hopefully improve economy and what were the results.

Thanks

Dave,

With 190 kW on tap I'm not sure you're lacking power.

I'd fit LPG and go back a cog or two and bring the motor up into its peak power band whenever you struggle. Then you can use the availble power economically.

Disclaimer: LPG may be expensive and/or have limited availablity in remote areas.

Jim.

hi. why dont you just repower with a v8, the new v8's have a better fuel economy than a six,and twice the pulling power. as the yanks have allways said. no subsitute for cubic capicity.

Ken we had 5.4 dohc LTds at work, massive grunt yes, but economy no,had to work hard to get them below 12l/100, where as the 190kw dohc sixes can get below 9l/100 amazing. Even the 6 cylinder Fairlanes with the 6 speed auto would get below 9s reguraly.

How fast are you towing?
I used to use a 6 cyl EF falcon wagon as a tow car. No shortage of power or torque there!
Big difference in fuel consumption between 90-95km/hr and 110km/hr though.
Falcons respond nicely to light right foot.

I have yet to see a Falcon that does not respond well to extractors, but the bfs are already very gruntie. You should pick up at lest 10% with extractors.
