Hello all, does anyone know how far a draw bar can be extended on a single axle C/T? or is there a calculation/ratio from axle to tow hitch as I am looking at carrying a quad? cheers..

When you say"How far" just what do you mean? Theoretically, rom the point of view of towing stability, the longer the better. From an engineering point of view, the longer, the towbar, the heavier the drawbar construction will need to be. Certainly for a long draw bar you need it to run back under the trailer to around the axle. You dont want one of those that just get welded to the front edge of the trailer. Apart from those considerations, I would think the legal answer might vary from state to state but would be more related to the total length of the rig rather than just the draw bar.

I'd be worried about what the overall tow ball weight would end up being...

G'day,
I don't know the answer, as previously mentioned there is probably some law about it. But, the Complete
Campsite CT's have one model that carries a quad on the draw bar so maybe have a look at their specs.
My draw bar was extended from 1.8m to 2.1, would probably be enough room for a quad depending what else you wanted to carry there.
Cheers
