Earlier at the beginning of winter down south - we had a lot of tropical rain come down thru the inland of WA.

I'm thinking the wildflower season should be pretty good this year as a result.

Wish them the best of luck on their trip.

WA Wildflowers start out with the most pale colors first, i.e the whites (some everlastings) and grey smokebush, these then are followed by the Yellows next (Wattles and Yellow everlastings) after the yellows comes the reds, Bottlebrushes, Beaufortias, Roo Paws and so on, then comes the Blues (Lescenaultia), after that comes the mauves and so on.

Depending when they visit in spring and where they go, will determine what range of colors are on display at that point in time.

Cheers

Too early for south of Perth. The Flora Caravan Park about 20 klm north of Eneabba is good value for flowers. The owners do walks and tours around the area. The best thing to do is to drop into tourist centres, especially small towns and they will have all the local knowledge of where to go. things change according to temperature and rain. Inland should be good as it has actually rained this year in Mt Magnet.

ABC interviewed a guy from Eneabba yesterday his Comments (relating to his area ofcourse) season will be very good needs a couple of weeks of slighty warmer weather. So this timing should suit your parents.

Don't forget to stop in at Western Flora Caravan Park, Eneabba. There is a good report on the park in Badger's site

the first flowers are jus starting to poke there heads out in the mid north - I will keep the forum posted. It remains to be seen if the season is as good as last years which was the best in recent years but is shaping up OK

there timing should be spot on

G'day Alan S

With the on coming warmer weather, the wild flowers are already "showing".
Should the inland Pilbara be lucky enough to get a few more days of light rain the region should be very spectacular ~ wild flower wise. Plenty of Royal Mulla Mulla starting on "show" along with the desert pea already.

August to mid November is normally the best time, then it gets a tad hot for most flowers.

I looked at a large stand of "Golden Grevillea" on one of the side tracks on Mount Newman, just this morning ~ squillions of Bees on the job already.

It's only the start of the season but the fields and the side of the roads are packed with colour already. The operator of the Dalwallinu caravan park stated this is going to be good year with all the rain and sunshine. I sure your parents will wild flowered out when they have finished.

Hi Lionel have to catch up

The new Patrol is over 12 mths old and a bit battered at the moment as we have just got back from 3 weeks in the Kimberley.

Cant get it fixed yet as Sal wrote her car off before we went, so she used the Patrol and I am having to slum" it in one of my old Merc's. Her new car doesnt arrive until end of the month.

Love to go go, I have got a number of balls juggled at the moment, new car, looking at moving, and i have promised to get to Guilderton and a mates place at Grey for a weekend, and one kids birthday to organise, plus parents visiting.

I'll see how i go with juggling, if i can keep them in the air, i am in, if they fall in a heap around my feet, i am stuffed.

Hey have you tried those pasties yet at pullelas?

Pasties mate, dont I wish.
Paulas got me on a diet, puts all this green stuff in front of me, I think they call it salad. Reckons at my age and weight we'll be on a track somewhere and I'll drop dead behind the wheel.

Scares her but hey, to me, what better way to go....lol.

cheers.....Lionel.
