Where can I get hold of a pair of, what used to be called, Sand ladders.
Not the Tupperware type, rather the stamped aluminium type !!!

Hi David
Maybe it's PMT (perforated metal tracks) you should have looked for. LOL

When it was first used to create temporary landing strips in WW2 it was called Marsden Matting.

Heaps of it lying around PNG.

Apparently it had a high nickel content so it didn't rust much.

I'm glad I ain't too scared to be lazy

If its matting you are looking for to get out of sand, go to a printing business and ask them if you could have some of their old printing blankets. They come in many different lengths and widths and after they have been hammered by the printing presses they are thrown in the bin. I am in the print industry and used four mats to get another 4x4 driver get out of the deep sand on Fraser island leaving the barge landing area. To say he was impressed is an understatement. They are easily rolled up and don't weigh much at all.

Hi jc,
Is it offset type (pun intended) places that have these printing blankets?

And, do they leave prints on the landscape?
