I dont know how old my Waeco is,or much about its history,as I got it with a camper.
I always leave it running on the lowest setting but recently I noticed it was running non stop and had frozen all the
water bottles I keep in there.
I dropped it off to a repairer and they said its likely either the control panel,it has the old type with the green lights,or a thermostat.
It will 10-12 days before they can fix it due to a parts wait and their own backlog
Anyone else paid to have this done?
How do you know how old a Waeco is?

Hi
ross m. I have this saved from an old thread. I think it applies to most Waeco sizes from this era.
Mine is a CF50 and it did a similar thing. This fixed it. Regards, Bob.

For those who may own an older model with the LED lights as thermostat setting instead of a gauge only...
Note that if your fridge keeps cooling and freezing up there may be lite at the end of the tunnel for you cost wise so make note of this if you did not already know.
When Waeco made this model for some reason they installed 2 thermistors for control of the fridge temp NOT JUST ONE.....(one is a spare)
What does this mean for you?
Well repair is only about $55 if a repairer does it or nothing if you do the repair. Just unplug u/s thermistor and plug the spare in..
If both thermistors fail cost to repair is in the $250 range as the base needs to come off so the old thermistors can be removed, replaced and tested.
Grrr!!!

This happened to
mine (CF60) once 3 years back.
I just turned it off, unpluged it, let it sit for a day (24hrs) like that, plugged it back in, turned it on, and Bobs your uncle that was 3 years ago and she still works fine.

I got it back 6 days after I dropped it off at Online Refrigeration in Wangara.
They warned me they were very busy through staff illness.
It was the thermistor, cost $60 for an hours labour and $30 for parts inc GST
The hours labour included cleaning something,I forget what
Its working great now and the service was friendly and efficient.
