BEACH ACCESS PERMITS
HAVE YOUR SAY - NOW

All users of the beach from Tewantin to rainbow beach should be made awara that the introduction of beach permits is very close. The Queensland Government has released the final RIS (Regulatory Impact Statement) for the proposed Cooloola Recreation Area Submissions must be received by 7th sep 09

A copy of the RIS is obtainable from National Parks Office or fromSite Link on the net.Submission may be made online to Site Link or write to

Cooloola recreation Area RIS Dopt of Environment and resource Management, PO Box 168, Cotton Tree Q 4558

At this stage the major concern is the fee structure. A mimimum fee of $25 for one to three days is envisaged. If you are not happy with this please raise your objection NOW as this is the last chance of public imput. ( Send or give a copy to all your friends)

The GST has done wonders hasnt it. It appears the States and Territories are introducing new taxes under the guise of a licence for anything they can conjure.

The GST has supposed to simplify tax, but has it and for whom has it benefited?

The banks?

I read were vehicles won't be allowed past the 3rd cutting heading south along the beach, so it will make it safer for the Council owned Caravan and Camping visitors, I heard from a few residents that the 1st cutting will be closed later on to stop vehicles going down to Northshore near the river mouth, and also day trippers won't go past Teewah Village so they won't have to pay the fee, it will stuff up that part of the beach.

Cheers

Gidday

Far as I’m concerned they can take their permits and stick them where the sun doesn’t shine.

I don’t know about the rest of you, but I’m sick of hearing about this festering dibble based on maintenance costs, even worst, permits for the sake of a permit. We pay enough taxes already.

The three tiers of Government need to have a good look at them
Selves, and stop wasting public money on inane bloody studies and screwball grants.

If that happened we wouldn’t have to put up with these increasing charges just to camp in the bush.

In particular I’m peed off that I’m charged to enter public land (such as national parks). This is our land, not some dopey public servant.

I’ll get off my soap box now.

Regards

Kim

I share your pain Kim as I'm sure many do. A lot of this is unnecessary and galling when you look at the colossal waste of money that routinely goes on.

HERE HERE

Totally agree,
Paid taxes all my working life to support these things and now the rats want to charge me for its use again.

I used to have a handle on life, but it broke.

Yes and whats the fee for? If people do the right thing, stick to the tracks and stay away from above high tide lines then no damage can be done to a beach by a 4 x4.

One storm does more damage then 1000 years of 4 x 4 use. Stay on your soapbox, there is a lot of us out there that feel the same way.

Now if the fees were to install and maintain amenities then thats another story and I would not mind that.

Cheers Tony
