hi out there! anyone running their 3.5 litre pajero on E10 ethanol fuel,shell website says it's ok but would like more feedback thank's ....

You will lose 10% in fuel mileage straight away plus more chance of sooting up their egr system.Better savings are to be made going the other way , running either 95 or 98 premium. After about three tanks you will get an extra 50 to 80 ks per
tank. We put e10 in our old nh 3lt Paj once, and it turned into a complete dog. I get an extra 1.5l/100 out of my 3.5 Jack running it on premium over standard 91.

Just thought that I'd post an alternate view. Sorry, not a Pajero. I've been running my '98 3400 V6 auto Prado on E10 for over a year now. So far, I can't detect either a reduction in power or economy, compared to the ULP that I've run it on since new. It still hauls the caravan (1800 kg) like a (petrol) train, still gets identical (but not fantastic) economy- 15 l/100km around town according to my fuel card receipts.
Chemically, the fuel has 3% less energy content than ULP, but the amount of fuel that a vehicle uses depends upon a lot of things apart from just fuel energy content. Note that because the E10 is blended into ULP in the terminal (not the Refinery), and because ethanol has a higher octane than ULP, the E10 will have a higher octane than ULP. If it were blended in the Refinery, it would be blended to meet the ULP octane spec. I have a workmate running a Falcon XR6 on E10 and he reckons he is seeing the benefit of the octane boost compared to ULP.
Cheaper per litre and higher octane- hows that for a freebie ? BTW, I work in Oil Refining, for one of the majors, so feel free to disregard what I've said (joke).

Unfortunatly E10 is at least 3% less power per litre than straight ULP. It also has other issues that are negative, it is hydroscopic, that is absorbs
water, it has solvency, that is loosens rust and
debris in the fuel system. Further you need to know if your vehicle is designed to take Ethanol fuel, if not, don't use or expect major problems.
From nrxt year on in NSW you will not be able to buy standard ULP, it will all be E10. Primium will still be Ethanol free.
