I have been trying to remove the tail stop lamp on my 2002 Rodeo Space Cab. After taking out the two screws holding the lens assembly which are above one another on one side the whole assembly is loose but still anchored / hinged on the side with no screws but I can't work out how to remove it. I didnt use too much force just in case. Any ideas ?
Yes instead of 4 screws to retain it there are only two and the challenge is how to unclip it......Thanks Peter

Check the owners manual on tail light globe replacement... Once the two screws are removed, the light should pull out straight backward - holding it in will be a couple of bullet plugs (plastic pin through rubber grommet)... It will take a little force to pull these pins through their grommets...

Thanks for ther reply. The handbook says with regard to stop tail lamp globe replacement "unscrew the screws securing the lens" and shows a picture of the lens with two screws but you have given me a good clue as to what retains it. When you say pull straight backwards I take you to mean I stand behind the vehicle and pull the lamp directly towards me

Yep, pull it straight back towards you... Keep your body close as you don't want to yank it from arms reach and damage the wiring - yes, speaking from experience...lmao
