Hi there all
Went thru a bit of deep
water while on holidays
My headlights now have a little
water in both of them which condenses on the glass
Any one have any
bright ideas on how to get the
water out as I suppose in time the reflectors will dull & rust
Thanks in advance Daz

Think laterally
Take them out get as much
water out as possible.
Send wife shopping
Pinch her hair dryer and holding units with the hole up warm the bottom for a while The headlights not mum.
That should dry them out.
At least it did with some I tried it with.

AND....while she's shopping, get her to pop into ARB and pick up a pair of headlight snorkels....lol.
Our li'l grand daughter thinks we have a
snorkel so we can breathe when we drive out to
Rottnest Island....wonder who put that in her head.....hahaha.
Cheers.....Lionel.

G'day Daz,
I agree that taking the lights out is probably going to be the only satisfactory method of fixing this issue.
To do that, you will probably need to remove the grille. This is a nuisance job and one that I got sick of mucking around with and have now it fitted using only the top four retaining mounts...... and I have got rid of all the plastic push-in fittings and now use 4 bolts which are secured by those push-on threaded clips. So, I don't use the 2 lower retainers on the sides near the headlights; nor do i use the 2 retainers in the middle of the grille.
Once you've got the grille out, it should be easy to see the bolts that hold the headlights in place. This is also the best (and most pain free) way of changing your headlight globes too!!! Unless you have Japanese-size fingers, trying to manouvre H4 globes down into the the back of the headlights WILL result in varying levels of skin being gouged off the back of your hands.... LOL

Rinse them out with a bit of metho first. Metho-being absorbic (spp??) and will also clean any grunge that may have settled. Then put them out in the sun for a few hours..(or even in the oven at about 70 degrees)...
