In
Katherine today and moving on to
Litchfield tomorrow. Have been told by a fellow traveller we can get our 20 foot van (not offroader) into
Wangi Falls without any trouble. My previous research led me to the conclusion we were too big for this. Can anyone confirm for me please? Otherwise we may have to go into van
park at
Batchelor. Any info appreciated along with things to see in
Litchfield. Many thanks.

We were there this time last year and there was a few big caravans.
A bit of advice though is to get in very early, as in before lunch as it fills up very quickly. There is also another caravan
park on the main road nearby but not sure as to the name
Cheers Dave

park at
Batchelor. Couldn't find another
park near Wangi.

Like Phil says, do yourself a favour and don't try and get in to the bollarded maze at NT parks Wangi. Go 4 k up the road to the safari
park - much nicer and full
services. $20 unpowered (bushland setting), $25 powered, or $30 if you have an air con (power from their own plant). Nice
park and ideal to base yourself for a few days enjoying
Litchfield. You can still call into Wangi Plunge Pool on the way home for a refreshing dip. Can also swim at the gorgeous Buley waterholes and
Florence Falls. Also in the plunge pool at Tjaynera (
Sandy Creek). Lots to see in
Litchfield.

Ive just done a google and found this, am pretty sure it's the one I meant as it's only about 4 km's from
Wangi Falls.

I'm sure you will enjoy yourself there as its a terrific area. A spot to look at is a few km's up the road and that is an old tin
mine. Quite interesting.
Hope this helps

There is another caravan
park called Banyantree (I think) which is on the main road into the
park. Stayed there 2 years ago and is reasonably close to all the attractions. The caravan
park is ok with plenty of shady trees.

If you have time Jeff, call in to Douglas Hot Springs; turn west a few kms north of Hayes
Creek. The NT parks campground is excellent value, and we ended up staying for two days enjoying the hot pools (river close to
camp is shallow, but cross first two streams and there is a bigger deep pool; all are toasty warm). A delgihtful spot and $4.50 per person per night, flush
toilets,
bins, lovely fresh warm spring
water on tap.
