These guys have just left Longreach in a Model T, re-enacting the original journey by Fysh and McGuiness, founders of QANTAS. Even today I think that will be a pretty tough trip..

Great story.
As an (easier) aside, a Model T was driven to the top of Ben Nevis in Scotland, too.

Fancy that. The car is from a museum and obviously in pretty good nick. Makes you wonder how they've got their hands on it and what condition it'll be in when it gets back.....regardless of how careful they are with it.

Good luck to 'em though. Trip of a lifetime!

There is a Hudson Fysh Avenue in Darwin near where the original airstrip was. I believe the airstrip is now Ross Smith Road? Now I know where the name came from.
