Howdy all. Time for a oil change before the holiday. I was thinking Semi Synthetic oil to suit my 100 Series 4.5 Petrol. Any body got any suggestions. I reside in the Alice, and I reckon we are in for a long hot summer.
Regards

HI Greg
Any premium grade oil is ok as long as you use the recommend grade as per the owners book 15w/40 OR 20W/50.
20W/50 would be better in the warmer climate.
And the old 4.5 petrol's tend to burn a bit of oil as the valve steam seals are a bit average and the 20w/50 helps reduce this.
I generaly use any premium grade oil and buy the ones when the are advertised on discount sale.
I'm using Penrite at the moment HPR10 GAS as i run lpg. this oil is formulated for LPG.and have been getting good results just returnded from a 4500klm trip
and used no oil.
Penrite Hpr 15 semi synthetic is another good oil. If you are not running LPG.

Greg,
I have always used Penrite HPR30 in
mine since new and being in Alice with hotter tems it will be good.
By the way
mine is at 310k now and still does not use one drop and oil pressure is excellent.
