First EO Gathering- Do SA members win the prize.

the reminder about the
St George gathering got me thinking.
so I looked under past members gatherings and found nothing prior to Sept O4 when Michelle organised a picnic in WA
I knew I had attended a get together of NSW /ACT EOer's at Bendethra in August 04 so did a search
From what I can find it would seem SA held the first gettogether and maybe the second
there was a post inviting people to a get together at
Berri on June LWE 2004
there is however reference to another gathering at
Berri in late May but I couldnt find a post advertising such so it may have been something organised privately rather than a true gathering or maybe it was a recce for the LWE.
Can anyone out there provide more accurate info

Lyn and Al organised the first one that I know of, it was at Dimboola. Around 2003 I think. It was before
Berri cos we were at that one also and Dimboola was before that.

Attendees that I remember at Dimboola are, Lyn and Al, Andrew and Jen, Jim Diamond, Al Packer, Willem and Uncle, Our selves, Toonfish, John, he had a very
well set up troopy, Gary, he drove a KIIIIIIIIIIIYA Sportage, I know there were others.

I was at the
Berri gathering (Member Des Lexic aka Alpaca) was the main organiser as i recall. I also recall Doc Holiday and his family were there as
well as a goodly number of other intersate visitors.
There was talk at that gathering of a previous Victorian gathering (Dimboola would be correct).
I can't recall the dates of the
Berri shin-dig though...

Thread 15,103 talks about the
berri gathering as being in the future....and it was commenced in July 04.
I didn't search any further at this stage.

well based on the info from above replys and further searching it would seem that the first post relating to an EO gathering is thread 8776 by Glenn(VIC) on 26/11/03 seeking interest in a Little Desert trip for Labour day weekend March 2004.
On that basis it looks like the Vics can claim the fame.

In 2002 A gathering was held at
the Pyrenees, arranged by a member from
Geelong.
It was our first and we had a great time.
