G'day Steve,
The Codan programming software is propriatory information, and has not been released
by Codan to the general public. It is also how various communication shops around the country make a living.
Maybe you should support your local industry by getting them to program you NGT.

People make a living installing software on Laptops - so you're arguing that I should never install software myself because I'm depriving someone of an income ?
. . . I should never service my vehicle because I'm depriving a qualified mechanic of work ?

Mike,
I didn't say that. If you read the reply properly, what I said was that the Codan NSP programme has NOT been released by Codan to the general public, therefore, unless one wishes to become a Codan Dealer and buy the software from Codan, one should support one's local industry in regards to programming one's radios.

Mate,
Peter James from Lara Electronics will set you up.
I had a great deal of trouble with getting a decent profile due to different groups and dealers pushing there own product, not knowing how to programme properly and some just down right rude.
Pete has a profile that can incorporate VKS, VKE RFDS etc etc and an easy to use telephone user option.
Highly recommend him for a mexican! Hah Ha
Cheers

Oh and the chances of obtaining the latest copy of NSP will be very difficult.

Some companies have a policy of making Programming Software available for free e.g. Kenwood.
Other companies do not - Codan strictly controls access to their current (NGT) and previous (9323) model transceivers.
Software for older models is readily available (8528).

Hi Steve,
Like you I was very keen to get a copy of the software as the profiles / programming of the so-called "dealer / experts" left a hell of a lot to be desired. Plus I wanted the convenience of setting it up just how I wanted it.
I couldn't find the latest version anywhere on the net. There was a torrent for NSP4.11 on the pirate bay, but as far as I could tell it was seeded very sporadically. Not knowing if I needed the latest version to program my NGT (bought Jan 09) I didn't bother trying to download it.
I finally found a decent dealer with a decent profile for the different networks - Wayne
Reid at
Reid's Radio Data in Cowra. Even so it would be nice to just tweak the setup of the profile a bit. Its bloody annoying that Codan don't release a trimmed down version that allows you to tweak formats, without unlocking functions like free tuning.
Good Luck mate
Ben

Hi Steve
You could join a club such as HFoz,
HF Radio Club etc and get free programming.
Cheers Jack

I found the latest version 4.11 quite easily and downloaded it. Having said that I now can't remember where I stored the download. I do have the older version on CD if you want it. There is no difference if you are using it with an NGT. I am happy to post it to you if you provide a postal adddress.
