A most adventurous 4WD short-cut for those travelling from the west to Coober Pedy & the Alice. Excellent views & plenty of wildlife, featuring Goog's Lake & Mt. Finke. No dogs permitted.

Looking at trek notes for Goog's, can anyone tell about the side trip via Newyear hill and Yerda station and onto Kingoonya ?
Is Yerda a working station still and do you need to call in to let them know what your doing ?

Hi Harry
We went that way to log a Degree Confluence. Yerda Station is an outstation of North Well and I contacted the Manager to travel this track. It is an out of the way track, but well worth the drive, with changing scenery.

Just the right info I was looking for.
Is that hut Yerda or somewhere else ?
What was the managers attitude like regarding travellers using the track ?
Save me chasing it up, can you give me the number and his first name ?
Did you find the stream ?
