Hi All, Ive looked at it many times, should have asked the question long ago, is there an adjustment to be made to the bolt with the lock nut that protrudes from the top of the towball hitch. I sure hope not. I have not heard anything said about this before.

Hi Micheal. The bolt screws down against the towball to eliminate movement when the coupling is attached. On light trailers the coupling can rattle if loose. It is not so noticable on a heavy weight trailer or van. It needs to be set with just enough clearance so the coupling release handle can be lifted. If the clearance is too tight the release cannot be lifted. Hope that makes sense. Bob.

Hi Micheal ,
On our last trip one of the guy's had a tow ball type coupling on his camper trailer and it must of been too loose and the bolt broke off.
So then the coupling was very loose. So it must be important to keep it firm so the corrigations don't pound the hell out of things.

Cheers Scoof . :-)
