Hey all,
Well i think my inner seal is gone, i have heard soem talk of being able to install some sort of pipe work that just keeps the oil levels even between the transfer and the g'box. I was wondering if i could get some help on, how to do it firstly (any manuals i can buy etc.??) and secondly where do i get the hose kit from??

Thanks all Campbell

Go and buy two new filler plugs and threaded barb fittings with a length of hose to suit. Drill and tap plugs, top up both g'box and transfer case, fit plugs and hose in between alowing it to act as a drain line as one is higher than the other.

Next time you need to have the box removed and worked on replace the seal with one from the auto box which has a double lip and lasts a whole lot longer and does a far better job at stopping the oil from transfering.

I've got the same thing on my 55 series. I got the complete kit ready to install from Don Kyatt's in West Melbourne. Cost was about $69.00 I think.

This is the best way to have trouble free gearbox/transfer operation, because it is foolproof. Did it with my 60 series many years before i moved on to an 80 series.
