Hello all,
do any of you have or have had or know someone that has gas injection on a 100 series petrol cruiser?
I have the old system fitted and have been told the injection is more efficient.
Any advice will be appreciated.
regards
brendan

G'day Brendan,

Can't help with the 100 series but we just converted a 120 series Prado to sequential gas injection with a flash lube kit.

68l's of gas gets us about 500kms with 10l of petrol used during warm ups. No power difference. On straight Petrol we use 18l / 100kms. Normal suburban driving.

We did a lot of research and sequential gas injection with a flash lube kit for insurance was the way to go, especially for later model Toyotas. We had ours done at LPGas1 in Hallam. They have a great reputation and lived up to every bit of it. Would not go anywhere else.

We also have a mixer gas system on a VX Commodore and there is no comparison between the two. Seq is the way to go and well worth the additional $'s up front.

Do not know if actually swapping will be worth it as it will depend on how old your vehicle is and how long you want to hang on to it for.

All the best.

Jezz.

Err, what you are saying is that LPG uses 13.6 litres/100K compared to ULP using 18litres/100K? That sounds like nonsense to me. LPG doers not have the same explosive power coefficient as ULP so it must use more to get the same amount of performance. I think you need to redo your sums.

Tend to agree after having several taxis on gas.

Get less to the k but its cheaper so theoretically better.

Also was told that LPG has an Octane rating of 115 but is less efficient

Thanks Jezz.
I'll probably leave it as it is. I had a quote for an extra 2 grand to fit the system and at the price of gas now, would take me too long to recover the outlay. not worth the extra dollars.
Rather spend the money on booze!
Good information, thanks again
Brendan
