I'm thinking of installing a hot
water system in a Jayco Hawk and wondered if anybody has had an experience with a Duetto 12v/240 Hot
water system. What would you recommend for
free camping.
Thanks

I have one of these in my Pioneer camper trailer when on 12v there is no thermostat so heats
water continuously then drains battery and the
water near boils, I had to have an after market switch installed to turn the thing off when on 12v 240v is fine, IMHO "CRAP"

Hi we use an eco kettle they are just great and boil
water fast without the need for any kind of power. Just a few twigs and leaves and you get 2 litres boiling
water....

I know they are exy but install a suburban or similar hws and you will find that the convenience is great. Just have enough
water in your tanks.

I have one in our pop top, great little unit and the thermostat does work on 12v, it heats the
water on 240v in about 10 min(hot enough to wash up anyway) and about 20min on 12v. i paid $290 for it nearly 2 years ago. i dont think it is that exxy for what it does or is.

i will have the van here in 4 weeks so i will check that again,i have run it overnight on DC and it did not flatten the batterys.so i am assuming the thermostat does work on 12v. but will confirm that.

Hi Paddy,
I got a Coleman gas hot
water system and its works fine but its dearer then the duetto.
The bride was sick of boiling the kettle so she bought it herself (Cant complain bout that)
You can use the 9kg LPG to run it as
well
Cheers Mike

Great thing about Coleman can be used anywhere. Not reliant on 240v or
battery power. Other advantage you can take the Coleman to the
water.
