Yep after 6 months significant sections of the Toolangi forest are now open , although you would be hard pressed to know about it as DSE or 4WD victoria websites don't seem to know about it.

The sections I checked out are along the entire length of Marginal rd, east of the Melba highway near Glenburn - a favourite 4wd area.

I happened to be nosing around following the new pipeline with 3 CB radios on , triangulating the radio traffic from some happy 4wders sliding downhills and soon concluded that it must be coming from that area.

Following the scent I turned onto marginal rd from Melba hwy and I expected to see the big closed signs next to where the pipeline works are occurring but the signs were gone and there was evidence of a fair amount of traffic
and sure enough came across at least a dozen or ten vehicles out playing all told.

Of course at first one is suspicious that a sign may have been blown over by our recent heavy winds however I checked out both ends, many intermediate tracks, including Two hills road entrance, the main road past Murrindindi scenic reserve (even the gates are gone from here-see photo), then north along the old sec road and also ginter rd exit.
In each case all the signs are gone , however one remains to stop you going further east at Jackons.

Also noticed were several large UHF CH 17 etc signs.
It soon became apparent that much logging is going on in places and perhaps this is really what caused the roads to be open.

I allegedly was going to be told by the powers that be when it would be opened however this obviously didn't happen however other people knew , so whats going on ?

They haven't been open long because I had to remove branches to check out some of the camp spots.

While many roads are open , almost all campsites along Murrindindi scenic reserve and now fenced off with signs as per photos.

Hope this is in time for some to have Fun Sunday
