Julie, there are several nice free campsites on the Nullarbor.

Jilal Rockhole, 13kms west of Mundrabilla and a couple just east of Norseman, both sides of the road come to mind.

Also, Fraser Range has re-opened. It's a caravan park on a station so there is a cost but it is very nice.

I'm glad I ain't too scared to be lazy

Hi Julie,
Lots of places to stop, if you just want an overnighter when you get to the WA site there are 24hour roadside stops with longdrop loos and fire rings (woods a tad limited around these areas though), if you want somthing a bit quieter we took one of the many tracks (some may not be suitable for a caravan) towards the cliffs of the Bight. Have fun

Nice little CP at Keith SA is worth a visit (walking distance to shops/pub) and several free camps along the Nullarbor. Some with and some without loos.
Agree that the Fraser Range Station CP is worth a visit.

Agree with everyone else, the free camps spread along the Nullarbor are pretty good. We used several both ways on our trip earlier this year.
Most camps finish up with several vans staying overnight so there is comfort in numbers.
Going west from Vic (Geelong), our first day was pretty long. We camped on the Murray at Mannum (turn off to the right just before Murray Bridge) and it was one of the best free camps we have stayed at. Right on the river, good clean toilets, and a mob of other free-campers happy to share a convivial ale and yarn all night.
Cheers
Jeff
