Hi Steve
If you want to get the ball weight just go to a public weighbridge thats where I went.
Regards Matt

G'day Steve
I have had one for about 5 years.
Used it on our recently purchased camper trailer and then went to a weight bridge.
The Maytow scale told me I had 400 kg on each wheel and 100kg on the towball.
The weighbridge told me the total weight of the trailer was 740kg.
I then hooked it up to the car and found the towball weight to be 76kg.
I would take it to the weighbridge and get an accurate weight.

How big it is wont matter.
I weighed
mine at a yard at Robina and it was huge, still did the job with only the jockey wheel on one end.
They did three weights and didnt even charge me unless i wanted a certified weight sheet
