Anyone been on the Mt Lindesay Hwy lately? Want to come down thru there on our way to
St George, last time we did it was about 6 years ago and the bitumen section on the NSW side was not very nice. Very narrow and lots of pot holes, and the pot holes when repaired had no fill in them but were sprayed with bitumen, so you could not see them. I don't fancy putting a caravan wheel in one of those. Would be glad of any advise on this please.

I can only report on Woodenbong to
Beaudesert which we travelled in April this year. Lots of corners and twists and turns but road surface was good. NSW has been working on roads between
Tenterfield and Woodenbong replacing one lane bridges with better one lane bridges(go figure). Maybe some work has also been done on Mt Lindesay Hwy west of Woodenbong

Hi Bruce,
We use this a bit to go to Tooloom Falls. The Qld side of the border is the worst - it is a good surface but narrowish and windy and semis use it, just take it easy. The NSW side is wider and also has a good surface as far as Woodenbong. Can't speak for Woodenbong onward. We have towed our van from
Tenterfield along the Bruxner then via Bonalbo to Urbenville and Woodenbong. No issues on this either except it is narrow and there is some bridge work that seems to have stalled completely - 40 kph and dirt for a few 100 metres here and there. See you at
St George.
Mike.

I last travelled from
Beaudesert to Acacia
Creek (near Killarney) at
Easter. The road on the Qld side is winding, two lane, but watch those semis. Once over the border the road is good wide road to the Summerland Way turnoff, narrows a bit to Woodenbong. From Woodenbong to Acacia
Creek the road is single lane bitumen and lumpy. The scenery made up for the state of the road. One thing I noticed is I left the road on the GPS once I crossed into NSW and had gone 2km west of Woodenbong before the GPS came up with me going through Woodenbong.

The truckies use channel 28 or 29 on the UHF can't remember which one. They call when on that section of the road to let other truckies know they are coming.
Have a safe trip.

NSW truckies use UHF channel 29 when East of the Great Dividing Range.
I drive 5 times a year for last 20 years from Lismore ,Kyogle ,Woodenbong,Killarney ,
Warwick then last stop
Yelarbon so know every pothole twice towed my van on it, just tack it slow.
My advice same as Jo's go via Moonie
