Sir Kev & Darkie
It has been awhile since the Photo Comp closed.
I am now keen on seeing who won it.
What were peoples choices for the winning pic??
I liked the Foggy Gums photo but there were many that were very good. I wonder if Josh actually did get the donkey to
sign up as a member LOL
Cheers Kev

Hi Sir Kev
I second the Foggy Gums, I have set it as the background on the screen of the computer . .
There were many good entries though.
Cheers

Yes,
I forgot about the
Tuena Sunrise. I would have to be a toss of the coin to split them.

Hi Kev,
I found out the donkey drove a nissan so I didn't bother lol. Agree would not want to have to pick a winner. The one with the shadows at
devils marbles was good. I saw our shadow like that when we were there but never thought to take a photo. One thing that this comp showed is how amazing a diverse this country is and how many good photographers there are out there. Sometimes it's being in the right place at the right time and sometimes it's looking at it differently to how you normally would. Julia takes some really good photos simply cause she doesn't look at it as an adult would.

TOWNSVILLE. The Strand is to the left. You can see the mouth of
Ross River on the right. (just above the white building). Cape Cleveland in the background. Taken many tourists to the top of it showing city sites.

For subject matter I reckon the photo of Kerry on top of
Big Red has to be one we can all relate very well to. The sheer exhilaration of finally making it to a place like that really shines through on this pic I reckon. Not crawling or sucking up but that is my pick for the winner.
There was plenty more worthy of their finalists accolade.
Cheers Trevor.

I see it was Donna on
Big Red too, not Kerry, I think it was taken by Kerry. Either way good shot.

They have announced it finally :))
From the newsletter
And now the moment you've all been waiting for - the announcement of the Photo Comp winners. Congratulations to Member - Grazz T (NSW) for his photo "Driving the Simpson", chosen as the winner. 2nd place goes to Member - Fiona & Paul for their photo "Tuena Sunrise" and 3rd place to Member - Josh (VIC) for his photo "Signing up a new member". Whilst there were many high quality, technically expert and aesthetic beautiful submissions the final selection was based on the best visual depiction of the meaning of "ExplorOz". We are proud of the great communal spirit portrayed in the comp and we’d like to thank all who participated. Just a reminder that there's still room for anyone wanting to attend the 2009 National ExplorOz National Gathering in
St George - put your name down here and come and enjoy meeting probably the largest group of Members ever expected at a gathering.
Cheers Kev
