To my surprise my new 4by is a sleeper, i am buying a 1982 toyota hilux, with a L diesel motor, 4 speed( which will be going, and currently getting rebuilt) to a 5 speed. Now my surprise was I thought it had the L motor in it, furter investigation showed that it is actually a 2L 2.4l diesel motor. Woo Hoo i thought, till i looked at the exhaust and saw the drinking straw that it is.
Just wondering if anyone has a used 2.4 diesel exhaust and exhaust manifold floating around in reasonably condition and how much??

i have a 1982 Hiace camper,(in sad condition at the moment) it had L diesel in it and when it failed i had a 2L rebuilt and fitted.if there is any more power produced by the extra 200cc ,it was not noticeable by me. a 5 speed box would be an improvement. a great old bus but not if you are in a hurry or there is a head wind.enjoy the hilux,roger.

thank you for the reply. i will enjoy the lux, as i have something to do when at home, getting the vehicle to a high standard and reliability. i will be doing some extra stuff like power steering and maybe a/c. a good clean up, buying it for 1k and insured for 5k so i can't complain.
