Hi All !
Just wondering if anyone has comments on the weather for
Coral Bay and
Exmouth in late October early November ?
We were there in August last year and found
water temp for swimming a tad bit cold so would like comments on
water temp, wetsuit needed ?? is wind a major factor, is it too hot for gorge walking, busy with other tourists etc ?
We're booked in to go so no going back but would like other's feedback
Many thanks
Paul

Hi Paulie484, not sure where you are booked in but a few years ago we were in
Coral Bay for the
Melbourne Cup, they had their own races on up there and all proceeds (if I remember correctly) go to RFDS, was a good day. As for weather it was lovely and warm but each year is different but you can be sure it shouldn't be cold. Wind,
well there is always the wind factor at
Coral Bay and presumably
Exmouth but hey, a little wind won't hurt.
Given half the chance I would be up there for that time of the year.
Enjoy your holiday.
Cheers
Deanna

Anywhere Nth of
Lancelin will have SW winds from the end of Sept through to mid Jan early Feb. The further North you go the stronger they become. This is the reason we get inundated by kite and wind surfers from o/seas during this time (also its winter in Europe so that sucks). Wetsuit will still be needed as you can be in the
water far longer. If you have a small dinghy you may be restricted to inside the reef. If you surf you may need to be up early and back onshore by mid morning. Some times the wind drops off at sunset but only some times. It doesn't matter really as you just live with it and have a good time. The East side of the Cape is ok and there is good diving and fishing. rgds

Re Exie, there is usually a significant difference in temps between
Exmouth itself on the east of the Cape and the beaches on the west.
It's often comfortable on the latter while the town will often be very warm at that time.
Cheers.
