Gidday

Coalseam reserve nearMingenew has 2 camping areas one with toilets and one without and the flowers there last week were terrific. No fires allowed

Cheers

Hi David

We should be in Perenjori on Sun. 20/9,then Mullewa for a few days before heading south to Willowbrook Farm near Gingin for the long weekend.

May see you on the way somewhere. We have a white 2001 Prado pulling a 16' Jayco poptop.

We will be taking some rellies from Kiwi land up there at the end of Sept. Morowa hotel/motel 27th and Mingenew 28th. Bit late, still better then than never. They are teachers and are stuck to the holidays.

Dont forget the Wreath Lechenaultias on the Goodlands road out from Kalannie or enter from the Gt Northern H,way. About 30 odd kays from Wubin.

Hi J & H
We have just got back today (Mon) from 4 days up that way. We took our caravan and our first night was spent at Arrino, a roadside stop area that has a very clean flushing toilet (keeps SWMBO happy), a bit of traffic noise but we lived with it. Next day we went through to coalseam NP , lots of flowers but as the dominant colour is yellow and for the past day we had been travelling through miles and miles of yellow canola I thought it watered down the impact a bit. Still worth the visit though. We overnighted at Mullewa CP, ($17.50/night) excellent value. The local wildflower walk (starts opposite the CP) is well worth it. In Mullewa we were told that wreath flowers can be seen on the Wongoondy Tardun Rd (Between Colaseam and Mullewa) and for orchids the local store in Canna can put you on the right track. We did not have time to back track to these locations) Next day we went to Yalgoo via Pindar (good showing of flowers around Pindar with wreath flowers just coming out about 11kms to the north- follow signs from town) We then made our way via the Yalgoo Ninghan Rd south to overnight at Ninghan Stn. This section of our trip and for the first hour or so this morning was the most colourful with a good showing of many varieties/colours of flowers. We left the Great Northern H'Way and came down Goodlands Road to check out the wreath flowers, whilst there were many bushes to be seen it is still a bit early only a few had commenced flowering. Not sure what it will be like in a few weeks time but hopefully the above may help in some way , back to the grindstone tomorrow. Regards alanc

Hi Alanc

Thank you very much for your reply which gave us plenty of food for thought. We'll be travelling up thru Dowerin to Kalannie then on to Perenjori for the night. Will probably stay 2 nights in Mullewa and after doing the wildflower walk will take half day trips around. Will just have to stay one night in Coalseam before heading slowly down to spend the long weekend at Willowbrook Farm near Gingin.
Life is hard being a grey nomad when I think of those on the grindstone.

Many thanks again.

Just back from the Mid West.

Best flowers were on the Mullewa - Moora road and at Coalseam NP.
