Hi out there,
can anybody tell me which clutch upgrade is the best for my patrol.
I am finding that it is hard going from 1st to 2nd when I first drive off, the gears chatter a bit and it is a little disturbing.
the other gears seem to be all right but some times are quiet hard to get into gear.

Is there a heavy duty clutch system that would be suitable.

Cheers
Danny

Gday Danny
Are you sure about the clutch? Have you had the oil changed in the box lately? Mine is the same but I am not worried about it as we have a new clutch and oil. I will put different type of oil next time it is due.

Hi Murray,

Yes I have just changed to all NULON Products, one of them being 75w-90 Performance Smooth Shift Manual Gearbox & Transaxle Oil,
With no change.

Cheers

Danny,
is it the gears that chatter or is it that the clutch rattles when you let it out.

i have a 99 patrol 4.2td , fairly normal for these gear boxes to have cold shift baulking 1st to 2nd , within 1/2 km all is ok know matter if you use vmx 80 or multitrax which is 75/90 or the heavier 80/90 and slight gear chatter when gear changing at a low rev , feature not a fault , these are a notchy box but strong, just go a bit easy first couple of cold shifts .

if balking when warm there is a problem.
