Hi Rod V,

What year and model is your Nissan?

Mate has a 2009 D40 Navara and he gets sub 9 lts per 100km unloaded at 110kms/hour.

The worst figure he gets loaded with bout 800kg onboard is 13.5lt/100kms.

The D22 is also a 2.5lt turbo but it is a different motor with lower Kw and torque figures.

Im not sure about the fuel figures for the D22.

Regards Wilko

Thats 14.19l/100Ks.
I get better out of my 1HZ, If your numbers are accurate, not good for a modern high tech motor

I had the D40 2.5L diesel.

The best figures I got empty was 11.2L/100. Averaged around 12-13 in town with and without load.
I would get 16+ if towing 1.5ton. Pretty wofull figures for modern diesel.

I was always careful to drive sensible and to keep an eye on revs.
A mate has the auto D40 diesel and gets 350km to a tank (IE 70L) He tows a trailer every day of about 1.5ton.

So your mates figures are in the ball park of what most Navara owners are getting.

MARCO

I have 2006 Navara D40 from new and has done 140,000 kms. Over that time fuel useage is 10.2 litres/100 kms. Thats a mix of freeway at 110 kph (50%), low speed , town driving (10%), towing van - 2500 kgs (30%) and off road (10%).

I have a 2007 D40 Navara 2.5TD 6 Speed Manual (with canopy) which is returning on average over the past 20,00km:

10.8 L/100km Highway driving at 100/110 kph (loaded)
12.1 L/100km towing a 1.5t tonne camper trailer at 100kph.
Around town unloaded it returns 11.00 L/ 100 Km

The best return I have had is 10.1 L/100Km (highway) and the worst return is 14.2L/100 km towing.

I find that once you get over the 100kph mark fuel consumption increases substanstially.

Hope this helps

Cheers
Paul

I have a 2008 D40 dual cab - auto and 2.5 diesel....best unladen on the highway is 12.5. Just returned from a 10 week trip....Queanbeyan - Fremantle via the Nullabor up to Steep Point into the Pilbara and then to Marble Bar and on to Alice (via Telfer Mine Rd, Wapet, Gary Hwy, Gunbarrel, Heather, GCR). After that across the Simpson and the corners and across to Cape Byron before heading up to Hervey Bay before coming home. All up a shade under 19000kms for an average of 14.2 LPH. My D40 is fitted with full length underbody protection (3mm steel), steel bar and Warn XD9000 winch, 160 ltrs of diesel, 80 ltrs of water and a fully built out tub - so I'm pretty damn heavy. Also had a spare wheel, 20 ltrs jerry, Oztent and some other stuff on the roof....so bit like moving a block of flats through the air.
I was a bit disappointed with the economy but when all things are considered there is a cost for everything and weight and shape are way up there IMHO.
