Hi Guys
I have just bought a 2000 model auto Prado. I have noticed a distinct vibration/resonance coming through the accelerator peddle when the taco hits approx 2600-2800 RPM. The vibration is not there above or below this rev range
I have looked on google, and it looks like this may be a normal characteristic of the Prado. Can anyone who owns a Prado confirm this?
thanks in advance

It's known issue, but not with all of them.
Mine never had the issue. There used to be a yahoo prado group too, I think it merged with the landcruiser group.

Mine does it too. As above, a search on Pradopoint should find an old thread which I wrote on with many others. It's quite common but doesn't appear to be detrimental to the engine.
Cheers,
Mark.

Yep
mine does it too, 2001 Petrol Prado. I have had a few mechanics look at it, even changed the engine mounts thinking that may be the cause but no luck.
Mine comes in at 2750 and goes away around 2900rpm so I have learnt to live with it. As previously said it does seem to cause any harm, its just a pain in the "ask ya mutha"

Dont worry about 90% of them have it. Its a resonance from the exhaust, even the diesels have it but no where near as bad. Depends on the revs and what gear your in auto or manual. I had 97 grande petrol/auto now have 01 diesel/auto its there but not as noticable. Just drive it an enjoy...Regards Steve M

I took
mine back to the dealer even though it was out of warrenty and they had a toyota factory fix for it. The fix involved something with the exaust and loads of extra sound insulation under the floor. didn't solve theproblem just made it so you could not feel or hear it any more.
Any way never really noticed it since
