Hi Folks, I'm starting to plan a trip to the NT for the middle of 2011 and I'm after any info or pics of
places that other people have been. We'll be towing a campertrailer with our Patrol, we're fully self sufficient so some of the more remote or out of the way
places would suit us better.
I look forward to reading your replies.
Cheers
Damien

Hi Damien,
start your research on this site in "places", and you can also download 'fact sheets' from the NT Gov Natural Resources web site :
Find A park
Also some useful info from their tourism web site:
Tourism
You will also find links to other sites from these sites. Google is also your friend. Look at a map, type in a town or area and you will find lots of info on council and other sites that will help you.
regards,

Yeah thanks for that mate, I've pretty much got most of that stuff covered. We've got a fair idea of our general route and most of the major sights. I guess I'm after more of the spots 'only the locals' know, especially with fishing up around Cobourg.

Gday Damien, If you head out to coburg, you
camp at
black point,there is a
camp ground and also huts there.take a trip to the
victoria settlement ruins and if you can do the trip to
cape Don.
Just book your permit early as they have a limit on how many cars are allowed out there. The fishing inside port essington is good(salt
water) just have a stable tinnie as the north end is open
water.Its
well worth the trip.
Cheers Ean

Can you drive out to
cape Don, The only reason I ask is I was looking on google earth and there doesn't appear to be any roads other than the one from the
airstrip to the light house. It also looks as though the cape is cut off from the mainland by an estury.
