can any one tell me if i need spike protection solinoid in a 3ltr hilux 99mdl not efi.&does it have a computer,to run engine management,&if i run a battery under the tray will rivercrossings afect it. thanks ant.

Will be right to use a solenoid. Even efi motors dont need spike protection 99.98% of the time. Only when main is nearly flat and it starts car, then full aux is switched into the system does a spike occur.
Water crossings will be ok aswell. (i think it will depend on what type of water we are crossing)

Hi ant. Had 2.8Ltr hilux with the battery,under my tray had no prob's.Now i have.got a 3Ltr 98mdl,just finished putting,a second battery in a battery box in the tray,no prob's so far.
