Tuck
This is a very easy and simple question to answer.

Tanami NO

Kintore YES

SBJ Track YES

Any good outback map will show you where the Aboriginal Boundaries are. You will need a minimum of 4 permits for both the NT and WA on the SBJ Track. Do the right things, get your permits as they are free and that way you will not face the wrong side of the law if out there without them.

Cheers

Yes Thanks have been down Sandy Blight via Gary Highway with all permits
Enjoyed SBJ so much wanted to go sth this way again
Had heard of a short cut from Rabbit Flat area to Kintore direction somewhere -- so we did not have to go into A/S

Hi Tuck
I know that there is a track north of Papunya to the Tanami Track. The one north of Sandy Blight Junction by now would be a cross country track.

You can go to Balgo from the Tanami Road then south via Yagga Yagga, Dwarf Well, Lake Mackay, Mt Webb or Kiwirrkurra, Gary Junction Road then to Kintore( permit obtainable from DIA in Perth online ). There are no other useable tracks between Rabbit Flat and Kintore and even if there were tracks, you would require too many permits. Anything cross country in that area is heavy going!!!

Tuck,

Bob from Kaos mentions in thread 69575 about travelling from Yuendumu through Nirrippi on to the SBJ Road.Yuendumu is a fair way from Rabbit Flat but it may interest you.

Bob seems to keep his cards very close to his chest though, so good luck with that...

Cheers
Alan
