They do have one made by Unichip for the diesel called Dtronic. Supposed to give up to 25% more power but I think it's only for the 3.0 litre with it's flash electonic controlled fuel injection stuff. I read an article recently that that there was about 15 - 20% available in the 4.2 by having the pump worked to close the figures to design spec. Apparently for under $ 1000. I think it was in 4wheel Drive monthly. Can't remember the month.

Non for the 4.2 nissan because its not electronicly controlled?

Turbo/supercharger-intercooler might be the answer.

G'day, just had a 3" mandrel bent exhaust put on my GU ute 4.2 TD, also new 3" dump pipe from turbo, what a difference. Gained 8 kw and nearly 80nm. Fuel pump not touched yet. Haven't done fuel consumption figures, but it seems to drive better for less throttle input. Will post when I have done some figures. Turbo dump pipe available from Northside ARB in Brisbane, I think, about $250 from memory. Their own casting. Local exhaust place $400 for exhaust, fitted. Have heard of good results with fuel pump mods from Turbo Engineeering Thomastown, will be talking to them Monday. Hope this helps.John

How many klms on your new GU?

Bloke in the club has one with just over 10,000 and its as tight as a nuns nasty still...

Enquire about effects on your warranty with your dealer, and get it in writing from Head Office on Nissan Australia Letter head....

I also installed a 3" mandrel exhaust with a new dump elbow, which was a dynamic turbo made kit. I was surprised at how much faster the turbo actually boosted in, which made better take off performance. I paid $500 cash for the complete kit. I will also be dyno testing the exhaust (when i get time), as i have already done a "before" dyno test at west end.

Mick,
Let us all know when you've done the dyno - i know a few people that are keen on this mod and would be interested to see if it's worth it!!

Mick, that is a very good price for the dump pipe and the exhaust, was it from Dynamics or else where? I found that I only gained a couple of kW, but lots of nM after fitting new dump pipe and 3" mandrel exhaust. Have to wait until I am fully loaded to see if more mods are needed for more power!

Yeh give me about 2 weeks and i'll dyno it again, as for the price, it was a dodgey deal from west end diesel. The turbo dump was cast by Dynamic, but the exhaust was made somewhere else. Easy to fit only 1 hour, but the old one took 2 to remove!
