Have recently arrived in Cairns after 3 months travelling through the Territory and the Gulf.My preferred tyres are Hankook 235/85/16 but have had problems obtaining these tyres both in Darwin and here in Cairns. The best option I can find in that size is Yokohama at $260 each.Anyone had experience with these tyres? I could take a chance with two worn rear tyres but plan to head out to Cape Melville so prefer not as it's still a fair way back to Perth.

I've been using Yokohama for years and had a great run. Only one stake in the last three sets.

Using 265.75.16 A/T - S.

Went up the CREB road last week on 34 psi with no slippage at all.

I do not know these tyres, (or yours) but suggest you check the height of the tyre you intend to purchase against your Hankook's. I have found for my Cruisers 15" tyres some brands are up to 60mm higher for the same tyre dimensions. Do not know what impact this could have on braling/steering, if you have a Hankook and brand X on the front, but it is something that I would avoid.

Yokohama have enjoyed a fabulous reputation over the years for all their different tyre types. I've used a few different types on various vehicleswith no complaints. I'm now using Toyo which I find equally as good.
