Gday,
Just wondering if there is such a thing as insurance for camper trailers? Like there are insurers for boats, cars, and bikes. Is there one for camper trailers?

Don't get to carried away with Alianz, they would not do my vehicle because it had to many options, and had been modified. (Suspension)

Gday John,

You will find quite a few Insurance companies will insure camper trailers. AAMI, RACV, NRMA, Allianz and CIL to name a few.

Check them out carefully though. Some insurance companies wont insure in certain parts of Australia if your travelling or on certain outback roads. Some will only insure certain content and up to certain limits.

When obtaining quotes there are heaps of questions you may have.....I suggest you make a list and ask.

Mine is with CIL which is a specialist camper trailer insurance company.

There have been a number of threads in here devoted to insurance and it would be well worthwhile doing a thread search. There is some great information in here about different companies and different experiences. The main one being - the test of a good insurance policy and company is when you need to make a claim.

Good luck with it.

Cheers.

Haven't made a claim so don't know what they are like in that regard.

I'm the same as The Rambler (above) - insured with the NRMA in NSW with up to $1000 contents insurance. I also upgraded my roadside membership to cover the towing of both car & trailer in case of a break down. having multi policies with them also added a discount.

Guys,

My Pamper camper's insured thru OAMPs who back to back it with CIL. Haven't made a claim on the camper yet so cannot comment.

We also Insure the Patrol thru OAMPS who back to back it with Lumley Special Vehicles (called a Bushtrack Policy) who acknowledge the extra modifications and stuff and that its an off road vehicle that goes places most cars don't. Had one claim and they were fantastic (dented it in my own driveway!!)
