Hi all,
We are contemplating updating to a new model Swan. Our 02' Swan has aluminum sides, whereas the new one is ply/fiberglass composite. Are there any opinions out there as to the durability of the new models, any differences in design, etc. Cheers,
Ryan

Hi, We have a 2007 Jayco Eagle Outback (with the fibreglass construction) & so far can't fault it. We have many outback roads with it & after a wash it comes up like new. We have a stone guard fitted to the drawbar & a full width stone flap fitted to the rear of out vehicle, just to keep the stones from hitting the front. I don't think the fibreglass front would take the constant pelting of rocks & stones, but then neither would the aluminium. Also I have fitted rubber flaps under the van to protect the shocks & brake components from stone damage.
Depending on where you intend taking it & how you drive in those conditions I don't think you will have any dramas with the "new" design. IMO
