Dot waite your money...std is 2.25 inch and stainless....cut out the large muffler and replace it only with a long straightthrough muffler. Spend the rest on something nice

Gday Joff
There is something good in it, its not shiney, but it doesnt rust either.
The biggest restriction is where the 2 engine pipes are squashed into the one larger pipe, cut that out and you are in front....extracters are very expensive ....all this work will get heat out quicker if running gas, but increasing power at revs on a 4.5 doesnt really help out much....unless you are towing heavy things around :) The other thiong worth mentioning here is be careful of noise, the 4.5 is a noisy motor, and replacing mufflers with straight throughs, will end up making it sound like a vl with a hotdog.

No cat, and the std exhaust has a crushed section above the rear diff that causes the most restriction, just changing that will help.

G'day Greg,

I just had my exhaust replaced with a 2.5inch Redback system and Pacemaker Extractors as the original muffler had developed a leak.

There is no cat in a FZJ105. I had a number of quotes that had a hi flow cat quoted. Needless to say I didn't use them for the work.

Sounds good and does help a bit with top end power. Overall I'm really happy with it. Total price was $1300.

Regards, Bruce
