I have a GPS Map60CX and reckon it's great.
From memory of when I was looking I think the difference between the two is the CSX has an electronic compass. The CX will show bearings if you move slightly (about a metre).

Hi Sam,
see this link
GPS Oz
I am very pleased with my Map60Csx. Much better colour layout then the Cx, otherwise, my understanding there is no other difference between the CSX and the Cx. I get very good satellite reception in
places where others haven't. That doesn't mean you won't lose reception.... say in full cover etc. Excellent GPS. I would say you would be happy with either... I just went for the extra features.

Hello - the difference between the units is that the 60csx has an Electronic compass (ie works when you are not moving) and Barometric altimeter. All other specs appear to be the same. You are the only one who can decide if you need these additional features and if they are worth the extra dollars. Difference in price, based on my limited research, is only $40/$50 (from two sites I looked at) ..not $100...though this depends on where you plan on buying it from I suppose.
Cheers

Hi archar,
The Older model was the Map 60Cs this doesn't have an microSD slot and you can only put about 56 Mb of maps into it. It also has the old type of GPS antenna which isn't as good as the 60Cx or 60Csx
The newer model's 60Cx or 60csx have the same sirf3 chip and is only about $50 difference in price
Also the older models won't take CN2009Nt or upwards
but it will load Garmin Topo
v2 or Oztopo v2.1

Hi, Have you also looked at the Garmin Dakota 20? Its a new model and notable more compact than the cx/csx. You also definitely want one that takes a storage card of some sort, also do your homework before splurging on maps. If you
shop around some stores supply Garmin mapping handhelds with shonky or similar pre-installed.
