Camps 5 number 510 in SA.
Can anyone who has stayed here give me any advice about the merit of this as an overnight stop with big caravans please. Due there tomorrow. Or is there something better in the general area. Have to travel from
Coober Pedy 326KM to this one and it's about the max of our desired range.
Cheers
Jeff

Relatively unexciting with plenty of road noise. Quite a good vista though. Nothing exciting along the way either.

Not sure if you are particularly looking for a
free camp but I spent a night in
Woomera and the CV
Park there was better than I expected.
A big plus is that it is off the road and pretty quiet.
Woomera is worth a look around too.
Just a thought

Gday Duncs,
We stayed at
Woomera CP a few weeks ago.
I'm sure they cater
well for caravanners!
We had a tent and they insisted we all cram together on a piece of ground the same size as a postage stamp. They said they had a bus coming in! Then the next day there were acres of spare space in the rest of the
park!
But we had nice neighbours, so all was OK.
I loved the locals. The lady who serves you coffee at the
Heritage Centre also serves the drinks at the sports club! And they ran a raffle to raise money for a kids playground. The locals love their town. If you visit
Woomera then spend a couple of days and support the local sports club (dinner 7 days) or the Elmo pub and they have a couple of great historical displays and at least 3 Len Beadell memorials......I'll go back there anytime!

We camped there a few weeks ago. On the south side of the more formal roadside stop there are a number of tracks that go off to a number of very peaceful spots where you will be quite alone and hear no road noise. You may also get some glorious photos of sunset over

Great shot, I would put up with the noise etc to get a shot like this.

Overnighted at
Lake Hart 2 years ago and found it served a purpose. Good photos of the lake early during the following morning. Would do it again.

With caravans, you'll be restricted to the gravel car
park - yep its fine!
We don't like gravel carparks, so sneak down the tracks and have a nice bushcamp. Only problem at
Lake Hart is that as you move away from the car
park, you move closer to the railway line and have that pleasant noise in the middle of the night that makes you think a train is driving through your
camp!
Cheers

Jeff,
I stayed there about 2 months ago, and I have a dual axle van, though I would suggest that you get in before 3.30pm - 4pm, as it can get a bit crowded.
