Hi,
After a long time of thinking and reading on the internet we decided to go for BW turbo twin lite 300.
We were dissapointed in the tent; the fly had a missing elastic, and the tent had a lot of manufacturing faults like you wouldn't believe. I mean, you expect more for $1000 tent, our previous $40 tent was better made :(
We took it back to store and got refund.
We bought a BW turbo (canvas) 3000; I hope this is of better quality, we will see this weekend.
Any similar experiences? I have read a lot of good stuff about these tents but it seems we were pretty unlucky perhaps to get such a tent then...

I bought the canvas version (240 Plus) for the durability of the floor and fabric- I preferred these to the Lite. It had its first run out in a sandy gale last weekend and held up beautifully. I haven't come across any manufacturing faults in my tent- may I ask what the problems were with your initial purchase? Hopefully it was just a one off...

When we installed the tent, one corner of the tent (where the reinforcements are) got ripped when I stretched the base, we discovered a hole in the floor but the tarp underneath was ok, the aluminium poles of the umbrella structure were quite scratched, one window was having a very poor finish, lots of loose threads, bad workmanship.

Yep, sounds like you found a lemon. My parents have a Lite and it has served them
well too.
Hope the 300 holds up better for you- shame they don't make the canvas version in a twin!!

It seems as though you must have bought a lemon we have the canvas one my daughter has the light one and they have done many a trip through the centre of Australia. The other thing is if you paid 1000 big ones for the light version you got ripped off if it had been the heavy version I could possibly understand and then even that would be expensive regards Alan.

RRP on the bigger lite ones is around the $1000 mark. Remember the twin 300 is a lot bigger than a standard 300.

Hello,
We did our first
camping with the Turbo300 canvas. It was great and I was really impressed about the tent.
Firtsly, the canvas seems to be a better quality. The floor is really thick and the whole thing doesn't flap and move compared with other tents..
Secondly, I could set it up really quickly and by myself.
Overall, we paid a lot but I am happy with it. Even if it's only one room is big enough for a family with 2-3 kids for short and medium stays. And if kids are smaller than 10 they love to stay with you and share the bed.
Great, great tent and I am happy with it.
