hello to all,
as promised i have a report on my canvass canopy i built on the back of my 04 rodeo, all glued not stitched.after 17 th km in the north of australia, from broome to townsville and every where in between, this test was successfull.
referring back to my thread on feb 10th 09, thread id ;65870,i had trouble getting my own canvass sewn.
i did tests with various glues and found selleys all clear to be the best.
it all held together, not a sign of seperation any where.even heat i encountered at 40 deg didnt effect it.was completely water proof as well.
i dont wish to take business off the canvasseers but to a back yarder short of a dollar this system is the way to go.
canvass must be clean [i used fine wet and dry sand paper and soapy water ] just along where the silicone had to go on both surfaces .
could be a handy tool to do any number of canvass repairs ,projects etc.
some may appreciate these ideas and if i have helped somebody all the better.
regards roger p
ps. rodeo 3.5 lt v6 s are gas guzzlers !!!
