Wildflowers - WA

Howdy all, Just bought a new car, well it's new to us anyway.
(1999 model T/D 100 Series) and want to go for a wander in it next week - just an overnighter, leaving from Muchea on the Brand highway.
Plan on driving for 4 or 5 hours and just wondering if anyone knows where the best wildflowers are at the moment ?
Also somewhere nice to stay ? Was thinking of Paynes Find or Maybe Perenjori.

Thanks for any input. :)

G'day Lynz and Nath, I don't know how experienced you are with older motor vehicles and it concerns me that you are biting off a large chunk of territory on your first country excursion in a vehicle which may give you cooling system problems. If you havn't already done so, it would be wise to get the system pressure tested and a reverse radiator flush. Regards, Pauper.

Hi there Pauper. Lynz here. My partner Nathan Just drove it back from SA after purchasing it there. All went well as far as i know - being female not a whole lot! LOL.
Car has been over the pits and is getting a radiator flush (think thats what its called?) on Monday.
He also dumped the oil as soon as he got it home.

Well if you do get to Mullewa despite prev post

Go 14km north turn right at 2nd wildflower sign turn left over railway and go about 3-4 k up Easdale rd

Wreath flowers on l/h side look for a sign board on a post.

More about 6k north of Canna on gravel road.

Coalseam was also good last week.

Didnt see any coming back through Three Springs

Hi Lynz & Nath,

Wongan Hills wildflower season peaks in September. And has many species flowering through to December. Its not as far to drive from Perth, only bout 2.5-3 hours.

Cheers.

Hi All

While on the topic of wild flowers. Does anybody know what it looks like doing the Granite route. Thinking of doing it and camping at ElachButting if the flowers are good
