Thanks again for all the advice lads,

Seems a small Whale in-line 12V water pump might do the job to lift water about 1500mm to the Van sink, according to a salesman today. He could not tell me what lift capacity it had.

Anyone tried the little $55.00 Whales

Wiring without a Van battery leaves me looking at the Transformer box for 12V pos and neg outlets but the wiring colours are a little confusing. The unit is a MW std on a 2005 16'6" Paramount Delta.

Any clues?

Cheers

Hi
I have one of these installed on our van and it works well,as long as the line is primed which is ok as we still have a push pull pump tap in the sink [usually only required on the first use of the tap on any trip].Works best if installed on tank outlet with a flooded suction.
As for the wiring ,as our jayco has 12volt lighting, the wiring of the pump was a simple to connect onto an existing supply.
I interested in how your van could have 1500mm lift to the sink as lift refers to the height of the tap outlet above the tank! not any horizontial pipe length which if it is 1500mm it would not affect the pump operation, ours runs approx 1200mm with about 800mm max head lift and works fine.
thanks
Russell

Seakervan,

"Anyone tried Whale?"

Yup goes great with gravy!!!

Seriously................I've used whale pumps for various applications for years and had no trouble.
I think though the ones you are referring to need to be installed so as the water supply is gravity fed into them.
I don't believe they are self priming.

Lift capacity shouldn't be a problem.
From memory the are around 11 litres per minute with a 1metre head.

Cheers
Brian

GDAY
I've got one in my van about 15cm from tank i put a small non-return valve in the line under the sink just below the hand pump, mines wired to a battery under seat. push-button on side of cupboard

A mate put one in his van with 12 volt transformer works a treat, pump wire brown active, blue neutral. make sure pumps facing the right way
