I promised a photo of this piece of kit.
You can tell that it was set up just for the photo, that there has been some rain where I live, and lastly, I played golf on Sunday morning instead of mowing the lawn.

You put Golf before lawnmowing!!??
So starts the long downhilll slide as you evolve into a "Golfer"
May your deity of choice have pity on you, shame, shame , shame.

G/Day Bob
Seeing the other comments were about your Vices re Golf, I'll make a comment about your Swing Away, it looks like a great, it eliminates the chances of burning your hands, so you can hang on to a Putter and a Stubbie lol lol.
Cheers

Hi Bob,
I love it. Where do you buy them or did you make it yourself??
I dont play golf or mow lawns!!! Did the lawn mowing once and apparently did such a bad job of it, have been banned from ever touching the mower again which is just what I wanted! LOL
Regards,
heather

From what I can gather that system would be very easy to make in the backyard.
It looks like the stake in the ground is Deformed Reinforcement Bar for which you can get the adaptors which screw onto the bar. These are used to hold vertical formwork together in concrete.
you could then weld the required arms to the adjustable nuts or as it appears in this case build the arms out of hollow gal pipe and use the adjustable nuts to set the height.
mmmmmmmmmmmmmm I might have a go at making one of these now :))
Cheers Kev

Image Could Not Be FoundImage Could Not Be FoundMy wife was always complaining the lawnmower was always hard to start. So I did the right thing and brought her a new one. I can take a hint. This is another version of a swing away bbq. Brian.

They are made in
Alice Springs (not China) which is why it costs $190.
The maker can be contacted on swingawaycookers@bigpond.com
He'd be crazy not to advertise on this site.
The wing nuts are separate to the cantilever arms.
The arms comprise a horizontal bar welded to a short piece of tube with a 45 degree strut.
A billy and a canvas bag are included in the kit.
The billy in the photo is not the one included in the purchase.

Silly question i know, but whats wrong with the much simpler good ol' hotplate? It seems this is just more gear to cart and more to pack away/put together. And maybe a bugger if no soft ground.
But tell me the reason, cause for some reason i want one too. HaHa, but gotta get a good arguement together first so i can confront the Lieutenant about it.
