Hi Guys,
Can someone identify my trailer rims, they are ROH rims with no identifying marks but the studs are 65mm centre to centre.
Can anyone help. I need a spare.
Thanks
Geoff

OK, I just went and measured centre to centre of adjacent studs on my ol' box trailer (w/- early Holden rims), and got within a pussy-whisker (that's a cat's whisker!) of 65mm...
Same dimension on a Ford hub I have in the shed, is 67mm, so on that basis, I'd say you have Holden rims..
The size of the studs is a good indicator.. typically, Holden used 7/16" studs, while Ford used 1/2"
Be aware that Holden changed the PCD (Pitch Circle Diameter) on their hubs/wheels sometime around the HK era if I recall correctly..
apparently the (incorrect) rims will go on the hub, but the studs will not be
centered..
Hope this is of some assistance..

Geoff
the size between studs is the same on a lot of them the thing you need to get right is the angle of the face that matches the wheel nut,its a bit hard to explain but as a rule the ford ones are a flat area with the flange surface cut into the rim and the holden ones tend to have a raised area around the flange surface, the easiest way to check if this does not make sense is to take a rim to the wreckers and they should be able to tell you.
Good luck Vic

If the size between the studs was the same on all of them, the PCD would be the same and then they would all fit each other except for the stud size on the ford. Ford, Early Holden, Late Holden and Commodore are all different measurements so they are not the same on all of them. Also Volvo fit Early Holden and Torana. The Change in the Holden came in 1971 when the HQ was introduced, although they still kept the Early stud pattern on all the Torana's. The Early pattern came in both 13 & 14 in. The Late Holden and Chev are the same.
Cheers
Ross.

A visit to your local tyre
shop should resolve the issue for you.

You will also have to consider 'Rim Off Set'. As it varies from model to model and from
sedan to ute.
Take one of your wheels to a local tyre service centre for identification or alternatively to a Wreckers who will probably be able to match you up with a low cost replacement. Don't forget to fit a quality LT tyre and have it balanced.
