Engel Fridge

Hi,
Has anyone with a 32 litre had the 10 amp blade fuse blow. It is above the 240v and 12v plugs. It is only incorporated with the 12v inlet.
Thanks in advance,
Ian

We had a fuse blow on ours, from memory it was a 32L special edition and had a temp gauge. Were wondering why the temp display wasn't working, replaced the fuse and all was well since.

My engel had a thermal type fuse
did two things...
1>open circuited if fridge draws over amps
and
2>open circuits if high temp eg if plug gets hots....a lot of the fuses fail this criteria for no reason other than being faulty fuse....engel dealer told me to just replace fuse with standard glass type....

Hi Ian
The only time that anyone has come into our shop and had blown a fuse, the person was very lucky. He had just purchased a brand new 40 litre Engel and wanted to do some fancy wiring in the back of his vehicle. He cut the main power lead, then connected it back up, but wrong polarity. When he plugged the fridge in, it would not work and came back in saying that we had sold him a dud fridge. One look at the fuse and the technician asked what he had done. That fused saved his bacon, and the person could not believe what he had done. New fuse and correcting the lead, the fridge is still running a charm 6 years later.

Cheers
